Prof Yoshiki Katayama received B.Sc. from Kagoshima University in 1982, and Ph.D. from Kyushu University with Prof. Makoto Takagi in 1987. After working at Dojindo Molecular Technologies, Inc. for nine years as a director of R&D department, he became Assoc. Prof. of Kyushu University and was promoted to Professor in 2002. Since 2019, he has served as the Dean of School of Systems Life Science of Kyushu University.
He focuses on the molecular mechanisms of aging, longevity genes, and the development of anti-aging foods, and also works on interdisciplinary research, includes gene design, biological and chemical methods, drug development, and gene delivery technologies. He has held leadership roles in the Japanese Chemical Society and the Society for Biological Chemistry, and actively participates in international research collaborations and industry-academia partnerships. Additionally, he contributes to postdoctoral education.

Prof Li has been a principal investigator works on synthetic and bio-based polymers, and their supramolecular self-assemblies forming nanostructures and smart functional materials (hydrogels, nanoparticles, micelles, nano-vesicles, micro- and nano-encapsulation, surface coatings, etc.) for drug and gene delivery, nanomedicine, bioimaging and biosensing, personal and consumer cares, and environmental sustainability applications. So far, he has published 210+ papers in international journals, including Nature, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Water, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, JACS, Biomaterials, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, etc., with an h-index of 71 and total citations over 16,800 according to the Web of Science. He filed 12 patents, edited one research book, and authored a few book chapters. He served chairs/co-chairs for 8 international symposia/conferences on the topics of bio-based polymers, hydrogels and biomaterials, and supramolecular chemistry.

Prof. Ching-Li Tseng

Prof. Ching-Li Tseng's research is dedicated to the design, development, and synthesis of nanomedicines, with a primary goal of achieving targeted delivery and treatment for specific tissues. Her work focuses particularly on ophthalmic diseases, including dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, and blue light-induced damage. Prof. Tseng has published numerous high-impact papers in international journals, and her research has earned several international patents. She is well-regarded in academia and actively collaborates with industry partners to apply her findings, garnering several domestic awards for industry-academic collaboration and innovation.
In recent years, Prof. Tseng has also focused on the role of Extracellular Vesicles in physiological and pathological contexts, with applications in early diagnosis, precision medicine, and drug delivery, while initiating several interdisciplinary collaborations.
